  : Location (view of Table Mountain is breathtaking) and period-style of the building were wonderful. The breakfast was really well cooked, and the staff attentive to specific ways we wanted our eggs cooked. The manager on duty upon my arrival, did her best to remedy a disastrous situation, and was very calm especially as it was her first day on the job. I was offered a free night to remedy the mix-up with the booking
  : Aside from me not getting the two double beds I booked and paid for (see above - I was offered a free night), I was concerned by: 1. the lack of cleanliness of the facility - it may be old, but the bathroom bin was not empty when arrived and I did some yoga only to see the bed had not been moved and old bits of candy/tissue were left under the bed etc. the remote control was dusty. 2. The mix up of not having the right room, ready and leaving a person with limited training to manage the situation (which she handled exceptionally well) is unacceptable for a 4-star facility. 3. The facility needs maintenance, and while this is a period-styled house from 1920s, damp on the roof, broken doors etc. are not acceptable.
